Glitch text turns ordinary words into a digital distortion effect — the visual language of hackers, cyberpunk aesthetics, corrupted data, and dystopian storytelling. Our glitch text generator creates corrupted, fragmented text effects that look like they've been pulled from a broken system or a sci-fi screen. Perfect for Discord usernames and server names, gaming gamertags on Roblox and Steam, streaming bio text on Twitch and Kick, tech content creator profiles, cybersecurity and hacker aesthetic accounts, and anyone who wants their profile to look like a cinematic visual hack. Glitch text ranges from subtle digital distortion — just enough to look stylized and tech-forward — to heavy cyberpunk corruption that makes text barely readable in the best possible way.
Every glitch font variant uses Unicode combining diacritical marks to stack distortion characters over your text — so glitch text is actual Unicode text, not an image. That means it copies and pastes perfectly into Discord usernames and nicknames, Twitch bios, Reddit posts, Twitter/X handles, Instagram captions, Roblox display names, Steam profile names, and any platform that supports Unicode. Lighter glitch styles (subtle digital distortion) are the safest choice for platform usernames and bios where heavy combining marks may be filtered. Intense glitch styles work great in Reddit comments, Twitter posts, and Discord messages where rendering is more permissive. Type your text, pick your glitch style, copy, and paste anywhere.
How Does Glitch Text Work? (The Unicode Explanation)
Glitch text uses a specific feature of Unicode called combining diacritical marks — characters designed to stack above and below other characters. Examples include the combining grave accent, the combining tilde, and hundreds of similar marks. In normal text, these appear over letters to create accents like é, ñ, or ü. In glitch text, the generator stacks many of these marks simultaneously — both above and below the base letter — creating the appearance of corrupted, overflowing, broken text. Because combining diacritics are standard Unicode and supported by every font rendering system, glitch text works on every platform that displays Unicode: Discord, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, Roblox, Steam, and more. The text looks visually corrupted but is technically just normal Unicode — which is why it pastes and displays correctly everywhere without any special app or font. The key difference between glitch text and Zalgo text: glitch text uses a moderate number of combining marks to create a readable-but-distorted aesthetic. Zalgo text (from the internet horror meme) stacks combining marks to the extreme, producing characters that overflow their line boundaries and look genuinely unreadable. Fontb has both — use the glitch generator for gaming and cyberpunk aesthetics, and the Zalgo generator for full horror effects.
